Hertfordshire Walker's privacy rules |
We don't need to know who you are, where you live, or what your preferences are because this is a non-commercial site set up with the single purpose of sharing free walks with fellow walkers.
Hertfordshire Walker is a hobby shared and not a business. So we don't gather any tracking information about those who use the site.
However the site is built on the free Google Blogger platform. Google serves what is known as cookies which are small computer scripts created to track user behaviour. This is explained in a small pop up notice that appears whenever anyone accesses the site for the first time.
The Google notice reads:
"This site uses cookies from Google to deliver its services, to personalise ads and to analyse traffic. Information about your use of this site is shared with Google. By using this site, you agree to its use of cookies."As part of the process, a cookie is also served to track the use of the Hertfordshire Walker pages. This is built into the Blogger system; none of the cookies are set by us.
This site requires no other information from visitors, because our aim is not to track you, but to share with you the collection of walks we have mapped for Hertfordshire, nothing else.
We even allow you to comment on the walks anonymously - although this does mean that all comments are pre-moderated (checked before they are published).
So we hope you enjoy our walks, despite a few cookies flying around.
