Using PrintFriendly can save paper and trees |
But there is a way round this. All you need to do is use the free PrintFriendly link that we add to every walk. That gives you the option to delete elements on the page that you don't want - such as photographs, interactive maps, etc, in order to cut down on the amount of printing required.
If you have a smartphone you can also use PrintFriendly to convert the walk directions into a PDF document then save it on your phone so that you have a backup of the route should you lose signal along the way as suggested by Susie Jackson in our Hertfordshire Walker Facebook group.
But back to printing; here is how to do it.
First choose the walk you want to print
Choose a walk then click on the green PrintFriendly icon |
A new page will load. Click on the element you want to delete |
Once the image turns yellow a black bin will appear on the left |
Continue through the directions deleting any elements you don't want.
Now print the reduced version of the directions (try saving as a PDF first because it might compress the page). By using the free PrintFriendly tool you will save paper and ink.
A word of warning: If you do delete photographs, please make sure you have studied them first because many include directional arrows which I add to show the correct route at junctions where care is needed.
